Under the Dimensions program, each product license, upgrade and service is assigned a point value. You can mix and match product licenses, upgrades and services to accumulate points. Business Objects tracks your points and discount level, taking the guesswork out of what and how much you have purchased.

Dimensions Open License Plan

Dimensions Open License Plan (OLP) offers customers the opportunity to purchase Business Objects products and services as needed, while tapping into tiered, volume-based discounts. As an OLP member, you are not required to sign a contract or forecast future purchases.

Points earned through product and service orders are accumulated over a rolling eight-quarter period. After nine quarters, points earned in the first quarter are dropped, and your points are rolled forward into the ninth quarter. You can reorder products at any time during the rolling eight-quarter period. * Your first product order establishes your discount rate. If at any time during an eight-quarter period your point total places you in a higher tier, you will receive the deeper discount on subsequent purchases. Business Objects will send you account summaries which will show you all purchases made under your Agreement Number, including points, licenses and software distribution.

When you have been in the Open License Plan for more than two years, this summary will also show if any of your first quarter’s points have expired, which could affect your current discount total. However, if you have an offsetting re-order, we will be happy to reinstate your original discount level. The expiring points will not affect your software licenses.

Enrolling in Dimensions

Dimensions Open License Plan is available through Softmart. Simply submit your purchase order to your account representative who will enroll you in an OLP. There are no contracts or agreements to sign, Softmart only needs your contact and address information. If you have a Parent Company, check to see if they already have a Dimensions Agreement in place. If they do, have them send a letter acknowledging your affiliation and you can start your purchases today at their established discount tier.

When you enroll in Dimensions OLP, Business Objects will send directly to you a Dimensions Certificate with your unique Agreement Number for placing orders. You'll also receive a Dimensions Welcome Kit that includes:

• One copy of the product CD including online user manuals
• A Dimensions Certificate stating your Agreement Number, the products you have purchased (including number of users) and a Product Activation Number that installs your licenses
• One copy of a Table of Permitted Uses which outlines your rights to duplicate licenses
• A Program License
• Printed user manuals can be purchased from your reseller or Business Objects

Important Note For Re-Orders: Be sure that once you're a Dimensions customer that you quote your Agreement Number (or Parent Company's Agreement Number) to your Softmart when you reorder.
